There is nothing that I did not appreciate and glean from throughout the entire book. Ele, in a manner of speaking, "hit the nail right on the head," when it comes to mentoring. The ideas of mentoring that she uses and speaks of in her book are so genuine and true, yet foreign to many because of it's God-centered selflessness. "Transforming Together" is filled with God's truths that should be implemented into our everyday lives as we grow deeper and deeper into our walk with Jesus. This book will have you focusing on Him throughout your mentor/mentee relationship no matter what side you fall on. The relationship that will be developed between the mentor and mentee is very much Holy Spirit led. Whether you take the role of the mentor or the mentee, you will be able to harness spiritual truths that God has given us to use in all relationships, for all eternity. Everyone can benefit from the precious jewels that you will pull out from the pages of this book. Ele draws from her own rich experience and gives a practical model for genuine spiritual mentoring. She shares candidly and honestly her own struggle as she sought God's direction for her life. Even if we aren't in a formal mentoring situation, we as women can be mentors to our children, friends, and co-workers. By sharing her real-life mentoring stories, Ele gives helpful ways to come alongside another woman and partner with the Holy Spirit to give her godly advice as well as love and acceptance. Ele provides a heartfelt account of her own walk with Jesus as He uses Ele to minister to others. Ele is the head mentor mom in my MOPS group and it is an honor and priviledge to know her. Her written words are just as Ele speaks and I feel like I am at Starbucks talking with Ele as I read her book. Learning about the mentor/mentee relationship is essential for me as I do not have my mother in my life. I gained new insight into what it means to have a mentor, what a mentee's role is, and that I am also in a stage where I can be a mentor to others. A huge bonus was having biblical accounts and verses explained in a new light that applied directly to my own life. I learned more about Jesus and His heart for others. Ele Parrott actually takes a leap of faith and shares how Jesus defines women to be there for women. It is so apparent that Ele's close bond with Jesus prepared her for this task of not only sharing Him with others but beautifully teaching others how to share and transform together. This book flows from one word, to one page, to each chapter, right into your core and mind. It truly is a spiritual journey in itself while encouraging one to take alongside another...together. Its pure truth and depth of the lives of the author and women who share in it pour into you and leave you wanting to pour into someone else.
